Authors and Bloggers Turn to Squarespace for Sharing Their Work

A published author and journalist, Duff McDonald approached Fix8 Media looking for a dynamic Squarespace website to showcase the breadth of his work. He wanted something that “wowed”—something different from the standard cookie cutter author websites he had seen. Working with Fix8 Media’s talented Squarespace designers and developers, he achieved his goal, a customized Squarespace Haute template website that automatically updates with his most recent work.

The home page leads in with a short bio followed immediately by a summary feed of McDonald’s most recent work. Customized by Fix8 Media’s Squarespace developers, the Journalism pages themselves feature a cool interactive hover effect that enables visitors to click on content to go to the source article. A custom feature of this Squarespace author website, it creates movement and flow, resulting in a unique interactive user experience.

Further down on the home page, visitors find links to all of McDonald’s books, each of which occupy their own page of the website and feature both reviews and links out to buy on Amazon.

A Contact page with a Squarespace form offers all the pertinent info needed to get in touch with McDonald’s people, or the author himself.
