Veteran journalist and published author Yukari Iwatani Kane wanted an online presence that accurately conveyed the depth and scope of her work. She needed a site that would market her books, present her writing work across a number of genres, and detail her background, teaching career, and experiences in the field. Her quest led her to the Squarespace platform and Fix8 Media—and another amazing collaboration ensued!
Working in the Squarespace Mojave template, Fix8 Media’s Squarespace designers kept the focus of the home page on Kane’s book, Haunted Empire: Apple After Steve Jobs. A quick scroll prompts other calls to action to dive deeper into the book section of the site, meet Kane, or learn more about her teaching. As a journalist and writer, Kane took advantage of the opportunities afforded by the Squarespace blog, feeding a block of her most recent posts onto the home page.
Delving a little deeper in the Squarespace site via the robust navigation, the visitor has a number of ways to engage with Kane and her work, including video clips, podcasts, articles, columns, and even a Japanese bio. An Events page is kept up to date with Kane’s scheduled appearances, enabling interested readers to connect in person with the writer.
