Working in conjunction with Google’s open source Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) Project, Squarespace is helping to speed up the load time of user’s blog content when those posts are viewed on mobile devices. Businesses, bloggers, and more can now generate mobile-optimized blogs using the AMP format.
As we all know, time is mission critical when it comes to page loads. People are constantly glued to their phones cruising the Internet, and blog posts that are slow to load can be a problem for those short attention spans. By activating AMP, your Squarespace site essentially removes all the boggy desktop-only content from your blog posts, resulting in an instant load on mobile. This heightens engagement and prevents reader loss due to tortoise-like load times.
According to Google, AMP pages load an average of four times faster and use 10 times less data than non-AMP pages.
Want to get your AMP on now? It’s simple. Log in to your Squarespace account and choose “Settings,” then “Blogging,” and enable AMP.
