As part of its ongoing efforts to lend a helping hand to those in need, the Fix8 Media Duda website design and development team came together this holiday season to provide a festive holiday celebration for over 100 underprivileged children in the Philippines. Led by Fix8 Media Assistant Creative Director Kim Abar and Project Manager Claire Besinio, the members of Fix8’s global team based in the Philippines hosted a luncheon in the park, serving a warm nutritious meal, sweet treats, and a gift bag to children living in poverty. The Fix8 team led the children in games and addressed them with some inspiring stories.
“It was so wonderful to provide a delicious meal and loot bags to some of the poorest children in our community,” said Besinio. “We know that many of these families are struggling, and this small gesture from the Fix8 Media team makes a difference to them.”
Abar took to the microphone to share her story of success, encouraging the children to stay in school and study hard so they too can find a path out of poverty.
“So many people in the Philippines are living at poverty levels,” says Abar. “We wanted to show them that by staying in school and working hard—despite the obstacles—they too can find success. No matter what they study, we wanted to stress the importance of following their dreams and not letting current challenges prevent them from chasing those dreams.”
But the most rewarding part of the day for both Abar and Besinio was seeing the smiles on the children’s faces. “All of the kids went home happy,” said Abar. “Our entire team is just so grateful that we could do this small good deed for the holidays on behalf of Fix8 Media.”
